About this place
Freedom’s lunchtime dry keema curry has stood out to some diners for its sweet-leaning flavour. Coffee, too, has drawn comments from those who like it strong. A curry-and-coffee set offers the option of lingering over a drink after the meal.
Breakfast brings together Japanese-grown white rice made with Kinuhime rice from Shintaku in Shimane Prefecture, the hearty soup of the day with pork, lightly pickled Chinese cabbage and raw egg over rice, among other options. Grilled fish changes daily, with fatty, thick-cut grilled salmon one choice. Diners can centre the meal on fish or put together a breakfast with egg and smaller side dishes. One visitor reported having rice and soup with grilled salmon and a green pepper dish. The menu also includes two pieces of rolled omelette, a pickled plum and small sides such as baby sardines with green pepper, for anyone wanting to add another dish.
Freedom offers dine-in service, table service and reservations. Coffee is available after a meal, hot or iced. The café suits a stop for breakfast or lunch, as well as a slower meal followed by a cup of coffee.
